PJC Foundation Tuition Awards
Policy: West Kentucky Community & Technical
College encourages life-long learning and supports career growth
through the completion of college-level course work. Tuition
assistance is available through the Paducah Junior College (PJC)
Foundation on a limited basis for coursework that falls outside
the scope of Section
2.10 Faculty and Staff Tuition Assistance of the KCTCS Administrative Policies and
Procedures manual.
Tuition reimbursement
rates are described below. Tuition reimbursement will not exceed
the actual tuition. The Professional and Organizational Development
Committee will consider no more than six (6) applications from
one person (faculty or staff) in a fiscal year (18 credit hours
maximum). All courses must be completed with a grade "C" or
better to obtain tuition reimbursement. Course-related
fees and doctoral dissertation hours will NOT be funded.
Procedure:
- Complete the WKCTC PJC Tuition Application form. Attach a
copy of the course description from the offering institution’s
catalog, and a copy of the offering institution’s current
tuition schedule.
- Faculty
must obtain signatures from their respective Program Coordinator,
Division Dean, and the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
The signature of these individuals denotes approval of the
proposed coursework.
- Staff must obtain signatures from their respective supervisor
and Vice President. The signature of these individuals denotes
approval of the proposed coursework.
- Forward completed applications, course descriptions, and
tuition schedules to POD Co-Chair, Renea Akin.
- Separate applications are required for each course.
Tuition applications are due on the dates listed below. In the
event one of the dates falls on a weekend, the due date will
be the first working day following the set date.
Applications for courses taken in the Fall: August 5
Applications
for courses taken in the Spring: December 5
Applications for courses
taken in the Summer: May 5
- Submit documentation of course completion and grade to POD

- Eligibility:
- Faculty: Regular
employment and one year of service or the equivalent of one year
prior service. One year prior service requirement will be waived
for Level-1 requests.
- Staff: Regular
employment and one year of service.
- Level 1:
- Faculty must be working to
meet the contractual agreement. For tuition at out-of-state
or private institutions, tuition may be reimbursed at a rate
of up to 100% of Murray State University's tuition for undergraduate
and master's level courses or up to 100% of the University
of Kentucky's tuition for doctorate level courses during a
comparable semester.
- Level 2:
- Faculty and Staff must be taking work-related coursework.
For tuition at out-of-state or private institutions, tuition
may be reimbursed at a rate of up to 75% of Murray State University's
tuition for undergraduate and master's level courses or up
to 75% of the University of Kentucky's tuition for doctorate
level courses during a comparable semester. Applicants
may only receive funding at Level 2 twice in a fiscal year,
and must skip a fiscal year before reapplying at Level 2.
- Level 3:
- Faculty and Staff must be pursuing a work-related degree.
For tuition at out-of-state or private institutions, tuition
may be reimbursed at a rate of up to 75% of Murray State University's
tuition for master's level courses or up to 75% of the University
of Kentucky's tuition for doctorate level courses during a
comparable semester. Courses toward a work-related Master’s
degree will receive first consideration.
